Philippians 4:4-8. Most people associate waiting on the Lord with fasting; it is a rewarding multidimensional activity, truthfully, waiting on the Lord can be very demanding; however your rejoicing must be in the Lord before it can be enduring.
To rejoice means to be full of cheer, having positive disposition to life. It is for those who are well grounded in christ. If you're not grounded in christ, you will be moved to rejoice only by good physical things. To rejoice means to be calmly happy; knowing your happiness is not decided or based on temporary things.
Our rejoice isn't expected to fluctuate with situation and circumstances because we are physical beings. We rejoice in faith- Hebrew 10:38
God has the best of intentions for you, better than your plans. God put a lot thought to your existence; he is omnipotent and knows who to touch to orchestrate the performance of his good intentions in your life. You should rejoice in the assurance that God has great plans for your life and has the resources to make the plans a reality.
If you are what you should be (a child of God ) God won't go back on his promises for your life. Isaiah 3:10; Isaiah 1:19; Deuteronomy 28:1. If Abraham had live by sight he wouldn't have entered into the fullness of God's promises. You can rejoice irrespective of the situation you find yourself if you rejoice in the Lord. Most faith General in the bible didn't physically see the promises God gave them but that didn't stop them from rejoicing in faith of the promise give.
Rejoice because there's a better place the Lord has prepared for you. Your Labour of love will not be in vain. The limit of a man's journey in life is the limit of his experience; this is applicable in the physical and spiritual realm. You should rejoice in the knowledge that no matter how bad things are, God has prepared a better place for you at the end of this world. Rejoice in the understanding that your time here on earth is temporary.
Rejoicing in the Lord comes from an understanding of God and his plans for your life. This understanding comes from a close or intimate relationship with the Lord. Do you have a close relationship with God? If you are not sure of your answer, you need to move closer to the Lord so you can rejoice in the Lord always!
