I think that the main issue is that the current model of social media platforms, based on free use, is becoming increasingly unsustainable, mostly due to loss of advertising revenue. And that loss could be attributed to the disappearances of middle class in Western and other countries that used to support it. What happens with X/Twitter will inevitably happen to Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, Youtube or whatever platform remains.
