2013 film Escape Plan provides another dream pairing of two greatest 1980s action films stars. Sylvester Stallone plays Roy Breslin, security expert whose specialty is assessing likeliness of an escape from prisons, while his favourite method is infiltrating those prisons as a prisoner. Plot shows how he gets CIA contract to assess one of secret prisons for the worst terrorists and criminals; when it turns out that the warden (played by Jim Caviezel) treats him as a real prisoner, the only way out is escape, so Breslin joins forces with radical leftist activist Emil Rottmayer (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger). Directed by Mikael Hafström, Escape Plan puts charismas of two leading actors to good use and provides in today's Cold War 2.0 America unimaginable critique of intelligence community and Deep State. However, script by Miles Chapman and Jason Keller succumbs to cliches which are most apparent in the disappointing finale.
