I'm back and today, we are doing something different. We are having art class and it illusion time. So today we will be learning about 5 impossible objects.
This was created using a 300 gsm Vellum Board and 2b graphite pencil.
So first we have one of the most famous impossible object called the Penrose Triangle. It was first created by the Swedish artist Oscar Reutersvärd in 1934. This particular impossible object resembles a normal 3d triangle except, it's sides doesn't seem to follow normal shape logics. And it awesome and I drew it. Yeah!
Then we now have the Impossible Cube. The same thing as the Penrose Triangle, it doesn't follow logic. The impossible cube or irrational cube is an impossible object invented by M.C. Escher for his print Belvedere. Man, this shapes all are good at one thing, confusing the bits of my brain all around and about.
After that one we have the Penrose Steps or the Impossible Stairs. This is an impossible object created by Lionel Penrose and his son Roger Penrose. This inconsistent of a stairs would get you lost in a loop of infinitely going up or down (depending on the situation) unless you jump off and die due to fall damage.
Ps. This illustration of the Penrose Steps gave me a headache. Most of the others only took like about ten minutes and not more than two tries, while this one took about more than an hour and a lot of erasing and restarts.
And then I have this one I don't know the name of, I just saw it on google then downloaded it, draw it in a piece of paper then took a picture of it to post here without realizing I closed the tab of that said google page and I can't find the source. More than enough tangent, this impossible object has a shape, shaped as an S rotated 45 degree to the left and flipped 180 vertical, poking both ends to a rectangle and having the middle part out of it. HOW DOES THIS SHAPES WORK!?
Then this one is what they call an Impossible Diamond. At first it looks like a normal diamond. But then a pillar just popped out of nowhere and decided to stay in a place where it can't stay in a logical perspective but still manages to fit itself around an impossible place.
And then lastly, we have the Impossible Waterfall. This was made by M. C. Escher in the year 1961. As you can see through my very own drawing of said illution, the said waterfall has a water bank below, the water seemingly float though a path that ends up above the said bank and fall like a normal waterfall would do. Instead it is a perpetual motion. Which is seemingly impossible.( I know perpetual motion is technically possible using some other machinery but that machine will break sooner or later meaning that it isn't so perpetual after all.)
By the way I think my brain melted just for trying to figure out how to make these objects that can be seen in all angles, doesn't rely on cheating your perspective and can be thrown out like an infinite looking boomerang.
