Who would have thought that a simple trip to the grocery store for my wife would have resulted in this? –thought the man while watching a seemingly homeless person stuffing himself with some of the freshly made breakfast his dear Constanza made.

That other guy was young, no more than twenty two or twenty three, but he looked as if the last few months -at least- were a tempest of disgrace to him, his only belongings were somef books stuffed inside a bag, and one in particular seemed heavy, with its cover made in some kind of metal. The young looked at the older and suddenly stopped his feast. He looked down, and then up again while pushing the dishes away from him.

That should do for a while… thank you sir, is there any way I could repay you?, except with money, don’t have any of that. -The older man kept quiet for a while, watching the deep brown eyes of the other, and trying to discern the sincerity of his words.

Yeah?!, well, that would only happen when the aliens come get me this Saturday! -Screamed a voice outside the old man’s house, right before the door opened to show a man dressed in robes that were supposed to be elegant, but were instead wrinkled and patched up with weird and strange designs. The old man and the homeless young person, the same as Dear Constanza -who came from the kitchen when hearing the door opening-, they all watching the newcomer in a very dense silence.

Hey Raoul, is that any way to welcome your little brother?, -said the weirdly dressed one in a booming voice while getting closer to Raoul with open arms. The old man stiffened visibly before awkwardly returning the hug.

It seems you are still with those “business” of yours, Hector…

How could I not brother?, the future is in the stars, and not everyone from the Outer Realms is a psychopatic monster… say, who is your new friend?, he seems to be a mage. -The guy, now named Hector, said while pointing at the disheveled and dirty guest.

That would explain a lot thought Raoul, before telling how he had found the man in front of the grocery store’s window, staring intently at it, at something behind it maybe?.

That dirty window was trying to tell me something, I know it. -Said the young mage. The other two guys stared at him, one with an exasperated look in his eyes and the other with the beginning of a smile.

The window huh?, dear brother of mine, would you be so kind as to lend me this new friend of yours for a while?.

The window-talker shrugged, Raoul sighed.

Well boy, consider your meal payed for if you help my brother with whatever he is planning to do.

Nothing bad, I assure you –said Hector while signaling the staring mage to go outside. –What is your name?, or do you want to be called young homeless mage?, he asked once outside.

I’m Sebastian Renard, and I’d rather be called that, if possible.
