If you wanted to catch the dot com wave, 20 years ago, you had to be a VC. Or to have at least $200,000 in cash, in order to qualify. That barrier created a new social class: startup investors. People who had enough capital and vision to bet on the future of technology. But it was a very exclusivist club. As I said, you had to be loaded to even think of getting into it.

One of the disruptions of the crypto revolution is already affecting this class. You don't need to have huge amounts of money to invest in a startup anymore. Why? Because startups are tokenizing themselves. The investment vehicle is not made of a set of restrictive contracts between a few people or groups, but it's transferred into a pool of liquidity that anyone can tap into. And by "anyone", I really mean anyone.

You can buy pennies worth of startups shares now. You can have investments as low as $1 worth of a token. Even if you get just a fraction of the actual token, now you can actually own it. Try to multiply this with one thousand startups. Or ten thousands.

There is a silent social shift happening right now. Not many people are "getting it". but the ones who does are quickly enjoying unprecedented amounts of wealth and personal freedom. New money are created every second and the speed at which this new money moves is only comparable with the speed of the information at the beginning of the World Wide Web.

By melting this investment barrier, cryptos are redistributing wealth without any ideological or political bias. Of course, there will be resistance from governments and in many countries it already started. But as wealth is being redistributed, the power will follow suit. Instead of being concentrated in slow and rigid structures, validated every 4 years, it will re-organize itself around the newly created social classes.

The democratization of investment is making all of us shareholders of a new world.
