While working on hive.supply this morning, something caught my attention. As you can see from the image below, the rewards pool increased dramatically since launch.
Usually, on the STEEM blockchain, that rewards pool was around 850,000 STEEM / day, and now on HIVE we're over 910,000, almost 8% up. If you pair this up with the price of the HIVE token, which is still way higher than STEEM's, then you realize there is an opportunity. An opportunity for producing more content, for generating more value, because, as I used to say about this metric, the pie that we all share just got a bit bigger. So every slice is a bit bigger.
Now, on a more serious note, I think this increase is due to the following reasons (just one, or all of them):
- less bots on the HIVE network (some weren't ported at all, some are still in the porting process) so the rewards pool doesn't get "chopped" automatically
- less rewards allocation for some accounts that were supported by the ninjamined stake. Because that stake is not active anymore, the rewards pool is slowly increasing
- less people blogging, not all of the STEEM bloggers made the switch
All in all, just thought you may want to know about this.
