Silver Surfer #1 - Origin of the Silver Surfer! (1968) written by Stan Lee / pencil by John Buscema / ink by Joe Sinnott. I had the pleasure of flicking through this comic when I was around 16 years old. At a comic shop in Hindley St. that doesn't exist anymore. A man had brought it in to sell to the vendor. It was the first origin story I ever laid my eyes on. It was a magical moment for me. Like viewing creativity at that very moment, a birth taking place right in front of me. It made me realise how a fictional character if done well can live on for almost eternity. It made me dream of creating characters. This world is truly amazing for what human beings can bring into existence purely from their minds and imagination. What a truly phenomenal power we all hold. Whether it be a character, a piece of furniture, a story or just a song. It makes no difference if done well, it will out live you. And that's the magic.
