I have some pretty exciting news. I signed myself up for Junior Songfestival in the Netherlands!
I've always really liked singing and performing, so when I saw that you could sign up, I thought: why not give it a try? I'm really excited about it, but I'm also a bit nervous because there are probably going to be a lot of other really talented people.
What is Junior Songfestival?

For people who don't know what it is: Junior Songfestival is the Dutch selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Every year, young singers from the Netherlands can audition and try to make it all the way to the national final. The winner gets to represent the Netherlands at Junior Eurovision.
It's not only about singing either. Performing, stage presence and the whole performance are also important.
What are the rounds?
There are a few different stages you have to get through.
1. Auditions
First, you have to audition. You get to show your singing and performing skills and hopefully make it to the next round.
2. Final audition
If you get through the first part, there's another audition. This is a bigger moment because you have to perform your song and really show what you can do.
3. The finalists
This years finalists 👆
If you make it through the auditions, you become one of the finalists. Then you get to work even more on your performance, song and choreography.
4. The national final
This is the big one. The finalists perform their songs on stage, and eventually one person or group wins Junior Songfestival.
The winner then gets to represent the Netherlands at Junior Eurovision.

And now I'm actually going to try it
Right now, I have no idea how far I'm going to get. There are probably going to be a lot of talented singers, so I'm just going to try my best and enjoy the experience.
Even if I don't make it all the way, I think it would already be really cool to have auditioned and experienced everything.
But of course... I'm going to try to get as far as possible.
