The Bible tells us in the book of Daniel chapter 3: 8-16, the story of Daniel's friends who disobey the king for convictions that really transcend and this is extremely beautiful since the reason is for Christian conviction.
Daniel and his friends were people who had discovered in them an identity that transcended any adversity that crossed their paths in order to assert their values that were centered on biblical principles.

8 That is why at that time some Chaldean men came and maliciously accused the Jews.
9 They spoke and said to King Nebuchadnezzar: King, he lives forever.
10 You, O King, have given a law that every man, upon hearing the sound of the horn, of the flute, of the drum, of the harp, of the psaltery, of the zampoña and of every instrument of music, desserts and worships the golden statue;
11 and whoever does not deserve and worship be cast into a blazing furnace.
12 There are some Jewish men, which you put on the business of the province of Babylon: Sadrac, Meshach and Abednego; these men, oh king, have not respected you; They do not worship your gods, nor do they worship the golden statue that you have raised ...
The king had raised a golden statue with the intention that all the people upon hearing the horn of the flute and every musical instrument would prostrate and worship the statue but Daniel and Daniel's friends made a difference and as the image does not show them they were the only people who did not prostrate or worship that statue and this ignited the fury of the king's wrath.
Daniel and his friends demonstrated that they were Christians by conviction with new customs that nothing and no one, not even the king, could cause them to violate their Christian principles and identity.
When the king finds out that Daniel and his friends disobeyed his mandate, he went into a rage and sent for these young men whom he ordered to put into a burning furnace of fire after having verified the accusation that the Chaldean men had made of them before the king.
The king thought that with this threat Daniel and his friends were going to fall and renounce their principles but his surprise was even greater when he realized that these men were determined to die if possible but never renounce their convictions.
We all know the end of this story and truly recognize that these men had a strong conviction and a deep faith in Jehovah God of the Army.
Today we need to have convictions about what we especially believe in our Lord Jesus Christ, we must believe that He will honor us in any situation when we truly know in whom we have believed.
