Dear Mr. Bowes,
I’d like to start off by congratulating you on your launch in spring 2017, the investment firm will have a tremendous start-off. Opening up the firm at 150 King St W, Toronto was a great idea for the marketing aspect of the company, the launch will be widely shown throughout the heart of the city. I have completed my research on the technology aspect of the firm and I have positive results from my examination.
Technology is a big aspect of today’s working society and The BYOD policy allows employees to bring their computing devices to the workplace for use on company networks. The policy is also cost effective as technology advances each day and keeping up with it costs a lot of money, therefore implementing this policy would save the firm money which can be transferred to another resource (PC World). Employees bringing their own personal computing device benefits themselves, as they are more user enhanced in their own device and it allows them to work at a faster pace due to the comfort of working from their own device (MSI Data). The process of updating the computing devices is no longer needed as now employees take up the initiative to get the best-featured device which is more compatible with their lifestyle. As the technology advances, the users also would also want to take advantage of updated features rather than working with the outdated and slow devices (MSI).
Every policy has its ups and downs but the main concern this policy directs is the security aspect, as defending the confidentiality of your company’s proprietary information is a big risk that can have fallbacks (Connecticut business and industry association). The company’s data is the biggest priority that has to be established by the IT department, so the company can implement secure corporate networks and password protected browsers in order to minimalize the risk of data leakage. Another drawback would include the difficulty of implementing company software into each computing device with different platforms, therefore the software of the company must be widely approachable on a variety of platforms (MSI). An easy solution to this drawback would include the fact that the company must buy the software as a service so the manufacturers are led to make it compatible on different platforms.
The benefits of BYOD overcome the drawbacks as they all have been countered and solved without it being cost effective. I am pleased to encourage the implementation of this policy and I endure it to be a great purpose in the firm’s operations. I appreciate you allowing me to be a part of this tremendous movement and do my best to help make this firm incredible.
Sincerely, @DoseofEntity (RESTEEM AND UP-VOTE)
