If you have ever talked to me then you know that I am a car guy. Today I will walk you through what most of my days are like. Every day in my job is different than the day before or the day after will be. As Forrest Gump would say it's like a Box of chocolates I never know what I'm gonna get.
Today I started out with a doorlatch. That pays 2.0 hours. As a mechanic we get paid on flat rate. This means each job has a predetermined amount of time it pays no matter how long it takes you to do it. That can be really good or really bad.
After that I had a transmission fluid exchange. I machined out his filler tool and made the pressurized filler ot of a bug sprayer.
So that is another hour in the paycheck.
Next up was an airbag recall. Basically I am pulling the explosive out of a bomb and putting a new explosive in. Put another 1.5 in the bank. So sitting at 4.5 for the day.
Rolling right along I got to do some easy work that pays great. 4 tires and a 4 wheel alignment. Pays 2.0 each or 4 total.
Now it was lunch time and time to mess around on the internet.
After food time I had to get going again.
Next up was a seat cover. Not glamorous but I will take 2.3 hours any day.
Went ahead and started on a job I will finish on Monday. It will pay 16 hours. I am putting a used engine in a car. So first thing is first. It needs a new timing belt. The timing mark is on the transmission so i had to improvise and use paint marks to align it all.
After I get done with it I chuck it all in my scrap pile and recycle it for some $$$ to blow on crypto. Lol.
