Individuals reaction to death is very interesting as during the process of her Mother's body shutting down her daughter sat in the room very far away just repeating " I just can't watch" and started cleaning out Anne's belongings and putting them in two garbage bags getting them ready to take to Goodwill as if Anne was already gone. That was the way her daughter coped was by staying busy and cleaning up getting control where she could. Anne's 20 year old grandson was also there but stayed far, far away and never raised his head from his cell phone and did not utter a word. I really don't think he got the reality of the situation that his Nan was really leaving this world. As soon as I know Anne was gone I went and got the nurse to confirm and her daughter and grandson left like greased lightening she just could not accept and wanted to get to her safe harbour called home. I am not judging understand it is just how different people deal with different life situation in the way they know the way they are comfortable I waited for Anne's son arrived assuming he would want to say goodbye. When he came I met him at the doorway to let him know his Mum was gone. He said fine I don't want to see her I am going to her place and pick out the antiques I want. And off he went.
As I stood at Anne's doorway I thanked God for the wonderful two years I was blessed to spend with my Anne. She filled such a void in me and vice versa. God had placed us in each others path for a reason and those memories will stay with me forever.
