In this community I have shared with you about the perspective of rice fields and the lives of local people in my village, who make their livelihood and financial sources from rice fields. I saw the farmers were getting ready to cut the yellowed rice.
Harvesting yellowed rice will not be profitable if the process is carried out in an incorrect way and at the wrong harvest age. Poor harvesting methods will reduce yield losses quantitatively. Meanwhile, the right harvest time will determine the quality of grain and rice. Harvesting must be done when the rice grains are considered ripe enough. Improper harvesting can reduce the quality of grain and rice. In the context of harvesting, it is necessary to know the stages of rice grain ripening, determining the time of harvest and the tools for harvesting. There are 4 stages of cooking rice grains:.
Milk cooking stage
Yellow cooking stage
Full cooking stage
Dead cooking stage
The signs of rice ready to harvest are:
95% of the grain has turned yellow and the flag leaf has dried up
Optimal panicle age 30-35 days from the day after flowering (HSB)
Water content ranges from 21 to 26%
Grain loss is around 16 – 30% (How to measure it by squeezing the panicles by hand).
Harvesting of rice must be done at the right harvest age, using harvesting tools and machines that meet technical, health, economic and ergonomic requirements, as well as implementing an appropriate harvesting system.

Usually I don't pay much attention to the environment in my neighboring village. But today, I saw a very beautiful sight that I couldn't possibly miss. The rice fields that will be harvested make anyone who looks at it feel fresher and more peaceful.
