Yes I totally agree. Life will indeed be boring with out challenges, how important will light be if there is absence of darkness?
Challenges are one of the things that makes life interesting, the Earth wouldn't have been habitable if there's no Force or resistance ( Force of gravity).
School would have been of no use if there is absence of exams and success is the ability for you to move from failure to failure without loosing the will to continue. I would say challenges is part of life. And life will be meaningless without their presence.
