The last time I posted anything on this platform was just as the pandemic was starting. At that time, I was posting on steemit and things were beginning to go crazy for that platform. I was very confused about what was going on. I even received some very nasty pictures in my comments, which had nothing to do with the content of the piece. Needless to say, I became very disillusioned with the platform. Until then, I was having a blast writing pieces on music, wrestling and comics, as well as other topics.
I have been able to stay Covid-free so far, but it hasn't been an easy road for me. I am a very social person and keeping my distance from people is not something I am used to doing. Add to that the lack of live music and I begin to start feeling like the mask I am wearing in the photo. Before the pandemic hit, I was planning on setting up some musical performances and comedy shows. I began to look for artists that I could book into those platforms. Well, I don't have to say what happened because we all saw the entertainment business get flushed down the toilet.
Although I didn't qualify for a stimulus check due to being one of those who fell through the cracks, I was surviving more than okay. I also have a great support system at home. We try to keep each other from losing their shit! Anyway, I ran into Chris from Conquest Comics and he told me about the Hive platform. I thought, if nothing else, it might be a great place to vent. I still wrote for Patch.com for awhile and may continue to put up a piece now and then.
I was excited to see that everything is still intact, so my time on steemit wasn't for naught. My only hope is that what is currently happening with other platforms is not happening with Hive. What I mean by that is too many companies are censoring material if what is stated in your blog is not what they want you to believe! In other words, you can't hold a differing opinion. I never thought I would ever see that in America but it is happening at an alarming rate at the moment. I will probably talk more about that at a later date.
I appreciate everyone who commented on my previous posts or simply gave the old thumbs up! I would like to hear from people about the Hive platform and how much they like it or dislike it. Regardless, I am here to give it another go. Thank you Mr. Blewitt for informing me about the change.
