There are millions of people who are working multiple jobs just to get by and pay their bills.

One recent report on Poland suggests that about 17% of people there have taken on additional employment so that they can afford their cost of living. It's happening around the world in different areas as inflation has increased and the cost of living right along with it.

For a few people they might have even looked to selling their blood in the U.S. in an effort to earn a little extra.

There are families and individuals who are struggling paycheck to paycheck even with the 2 or 3 jobs that they might be working.

With inflation pushing prices up for a variety of daily living expenses it means that many people would have to go looking for more ways to earn, because not everyone has a boss willing to give them a yearly raise to match that inflation. If they don't give that raise then employees are effectively earning less than they were the year prior, what they earn can buy them less now.

Record number of Americans have 2 jobs

Is this a sign of a strong economy? I don't think so. When people are working 2 or 3 jobs and still struggling to get by because things are too expensive that doesn't spell prosperity and opportunity does it? Did their parents have to work 2 or 3 jobs to maintain the same standard of living or better? In many cases the answer is no.

Even retired individuals have been going back into the market to look for work so that they can afford gas, groceries, and a roof over their head. Not many people like to see seniors struggling like that and there are a variety of instances where fundraising efforts have been established after videos go viral showing seniors out and about working hard doing deliveries and more just to get by.

The side hustle engagement has skyrocketed thanks to inflation and it isn't only those in the U.S. who might be looking for additional work. Is this amount of work good for their productivity and mental well-being?

One report suggested that about 70% of Americans are looking for more work because of inflation.
