I don't know what you mean? Think less of serious problems? There are professors who use cannabis, doctors, CEOs, lawyers, many professionals find value in this plant. Using cannabis doesn't mean someone isn't or cannot be professional or productive. Seniors, grandmothers as you say, are one of the fastest growing demographics for cannabis :) think of all the different reasons they might want or value this plant when so many seniors struggle with pain etc, why should they suffer instead? they shouldn't and it is wonderful that there might be something like a simple plant that can help them :)
