Recently saw the new Netflix Texas Chainsaw Massacre and while it was enjoyable I don't think it was better than the old Texas Chainsaw from 2003.

You get to the action starting within about 20 minutes. A group of teens end up in a small ghost town, with the story that they're looking to invest in the region and bring it to life once again. Little do they know their worst nightmare is living in one of the homes that they seem to mistakenly think they have the deed for.

When they try to evict that homeowner and she ends up having a heart attack over it, this is when things take a turn and Leatherface starts his new spree of violence, beginning with the officers in the van who were taking him and the homeowner to the hospital. He eventually makes his way back to the town, where there is still a bus load of teens, and in one scene he gets onto the bus with his chainsaw as they warn him that if he makes a move he's going to be "cancelled''.

This Texas Chainsaw movie was supposed to be a direct sequel to the 1974 original and isn't linked with other sequels that have been released previously.

The previous Texas Chainsaw from 2003 was able to bring in over $100 million, and there have been numerous films released as a part of this franchise. This is something that has been building for almost 50 years.

This new Netflix one picks up several decades after the original film and it focuses on Leatherface targeting these new teens that have come into the town he seems to have been living in. If you have seen and enjoyed the franchise films before then you might enjoy this one, even though it has received many negative reviews. I don't think it has been the best film released from the franchise overall.
