The financial crisis going on in Lebanon is severe and the situation has been negatively impacting millions. They have been struggling with high inflation and prices have been soaring, pushing more into hunger and poverty.

Faced with the decision to move to somewhere with more opportunity or stay and hope for it to get better, not everyone has the means or freedom to make that choice.

2nd highest inflation rate globally?

It looks like some anticipate that Lebanon might be set to possibly capture the title for 2nd highest inflation rate in the world this year. However, there are other areas like Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Syria, Sudan, who are all struggling with some of the highest inflation as well.

The inflation is pushing up purchasing costs and pushing down the cost of living as more struggle to afford daily life.

Last year it was reported that roughly 80% of households couldn't afford food, they don't have money to afford food, and families have been struggling to survive. Whether giving up costly meat products, skipping meals altogether, there has been a tremendous amount of suffering the people are being forced to endure as the economy tanks.
