Some states saw a dramatic increase in panic buying and several stations ran out of gas altogether. But that number of stations without gas is on the decline.
The gas panic buying is slowing down now.
When it all started the industry experts insisted that it wasn't an issue with supply and that it was merely a problem with distribution, with multiple factors contributing to the problem.
Some drivers might now be thinking about a switch to electric to avoid this problem in the future, but they do not come without their own risks too.
They've been getting hundreds of gas stations back every hour and it won't be that much longer before things return more to normal. There are some stations still waiting for fuel and other areas that might have it worse than some, but the problem is not one of not enough gas to go around. It's just a matter of getting it there.
