other than the first year of hype it has actually never thriven ... unless you call this current state thriving ... it was close to $10/steem .. then suddenly gud content became a reason for some whales to sell off and dump the prices to counter cross-voting
steemit might hold a small pack of IT-genius, it has never been a genius at marketing or selling itself. Justin Sun on the other hand ...
but if it's about authenticity of the 100.000 dollar whales who will now be small sardines after the swap exposes this tiny place to the real world ?

this at least opens options and brings real capital from a real player instead of "tell the clients to bring a friend and some money" and also : the initial gain was sold off already by the ninjamined pool thats still lurking (who else would have done that?)
I hope if the witnesses say 'no' b/c they lose their status symbol then steemit just goes yes, no one else has done development but everyone complaining , they can fork like ETH/ETC and we all get double ...
or the new coin suddenly says : "sorry but your old steem wont work anymore"
(hahah)
its way too early to say anything
having a dragon with billions on the bridge , i think , is potentially the best thing to happen since the price crashed from $7 to $0.20
atm, all we can assume is that everybody wants to make money , steemit sold after four years, not because they HAVE more money than they can spend and Justin Sun, who put a billions bid for a date with warren buffett and then cancelled, doesn't actually need more money but something tangible for his pet-project lol ... so everyone will be motivated to make it work ... collateral damage along the way is probably inevitable ...
other than that, nothing is set in stone
it can split, they can start with a blank chain, they can let you choose if you would like to keep all accounts you have, they can let you merge them
Ned can finalize his original dream of one account pro capita (as his 'good friend' on the voice of Eos will force ... although block.one is not really Larrimer) , they can kill all botting and turn this into just another facebook clone-wannabe or ... go for something different because facebook already exists heh
id say with that amount of money the sky's the limit, my biggest fear is the zealots and national-tribalists ... they might just push the guy away and all that mullah with him
i dont care if its called steem or tron or NEo-air or Treem , id like to see the price go up
these things usually take lots of time i wouldnt expect too much in 2020 yet but poking and polling to see where the limits are where people start to fall off and even then
from all i can read its what they call
a done deal :)
anyone who feels up to it can get the source for the steemchain and fork it ... my guess is after four years no one really has felt up to that lol
