Today i am trying Hoppe Oloroso.
The Oloroso is made by German Brewery Hoppe in Bavaria and so it's brewed according the German purity law. It's an imperial stout and matured in barrels of Oloroso Sherry (therefore the name I guess).
As you can see with 11.6% it's quite a strong beer and since it's kinda special all made bottles have their own number.
Somehow it makes me think if the bottles could grow in value 🤔
The smell reminds me of chocolate and the taste does so as well. Furthermore it has some bitterness and is not very hoppy.
To of the reminder of chocolate I paired it accordingly and it was a good decision.
My Rating
I give it a 4/5
You might ask why just 4/5? It's quite simple - I prefer the hoppy and fruity taste of double ipa.
