Hello everyone, how are you today?
As you may know, it is now Tet holiday in Vietnam, almost all the people who live far away from their families will return to their hometown to celebrate Tet holiday with their families. And I am no exception. Currently I have returned to my hometown, Dak Lak province, a province in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. Although last year was quite a difficult year not only for me but for so many people because of the pandemic, I still feel fortunate that I was able to return to my family for Tet holiday.

Okay, back to today's topic, one of the things I love and miss most about my hometown is the sun. Compared to most other areas of Vietnam, the sun in my hometown seems bigger, maybe because we are in the highlands. Therefore, sunlight has a darker color. Around 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the sun's rays start to change from yellow to orange and finally to red.

Especially when combined with mountainous terrain, the sunset in my hometown becomes even more beautiful. I live and work in a big city of Vietnam, Danang city, where I rarely see the real sunset because of the tall buildings around. But here in my hometown, I can admire almost the entire sunset until the sun goes down behind the mountains, when it also starts to get dark. Today I am even more fortunate to be able to watch flocks of birds return to their nests in the woods after a day of foraging. Speaking of bird nests, my hometown is still sparsely populated and the forest area is still quite large so in the afternoons it's usual to see flocks of birds flying back to their nests in the forests.

Okay, I will have about 10 days for Tet holiday in my hometown. That means I will have 10 more times to admire the beauty of the sunset here. That sounds excited to me. Of the many things I miss about my hometown, the sunset and the sun are the things I can still enjoy to this day. I hope that you like it too. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Have a nice day!
