The Waitakere ranges west of Auckland are a fantastic and diverse group of hills which is so close to the city (only 40 minutes drive!), yet has so much wildlife, black sand surf beaches and "secret" walks like this one to the Karekare Falls. Beautiful sights, sounds and scents in this haven.
