Flesh and spirit has always been an internal struggle. You may have come across the phrase; “ the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak “. a1drjohnthumb.JPG

The distinction between fleshly desires and spiritual guidance is beyond my capacity to understand or explain. I realize that my life has always included an internal struggle. There is an internal compass that steers me or tries to direct my steps. I consider that compass my ‘spiritual’ guide.

Without my spiritual guide, I would be at the mercy of my desires. It would be easy to lie, cheat, steal, and scheme my way through everything. Why not?

There comes a time when each of us must take responsibility for our ability to make decisions: to control our fleshly desires. Parents or social authorities usually begin this awareness. Unfortunately, fear of punishment is their primary teaching aid.

Love is a spiritual emotion. There are no laws or punishments that restrict you natural desire to love. From my perspective, love shows itself when personal fleshly desires exist as being secondary to the needs of others.

This struggle is personal! Only you can resolve the true motivations behind your actions.

Here is today’s beauty.
