This is Election Day in the USA. Sure there are important issues surrounding us, but we don’t get to vote on them. Rather we vote on representatives who have promised to keep us in mind when they vote in the future. Such is the nature of a republic.
Political systems are all imperfect. The current conglomeration of governments has turned into a semi-dangerous group of economic fools. Many empty promises have been made to establish their power.
In my community we have been presented with a flurry of television commercials promising honesty, responsibility, and higher pay for teachers. Oklahoma offers some of the lowest teacher salaries in the nation.
Promises of change are not contractual. There are no penalties fo failure.
At the end of the day... I expect few changes. We may see a few more people struggle to deliver on their promises, but the massive size of the established system will thwart them.
I expect nothing will change until the revolution.
