Event though we are in the midst of a pandemic, I hope you are doing well and have a healthy mind and body. I am new to this platform and would be delighted to introduce myself to everyone. I'm Vail Denver Velez, a STEM student at Anselmo A. Sandoval Memorial National High School. My favorite subjects are science and biology, and I intend to pursue a BS Bio or BSMT as a pre-med course in college. Pandemic teaches me more about myself; I'm more inspired and motivated to succeed now that I know what path I should take as a college student. During this pandemic, I became passionate about cooking and now consider it one of my hobbies, and I also enjoy watching kdramas and other tv series on the internet. And I am very active in promoting and fighting for equal rights for all genders, particularly the LGBTQ community; we have been striving for gender equality for a long time. And I believe I have a responsibility to raise my voice and continue to fight for the discrimination that we all face. I also enjoy reading books.
I've always wanted to be a doctor since I was a child. At first, I wanted to be a doctor because it is a stable job with a good salary, but as time passes, I realize that my passion for connecting and building relationships with other people, as well as my interest in reading science and medicine-related subjects, help me to discover my true purpose. I enjoy talking with people and building relationships with them; with this and my determination, I believe I will do well in the path I will take in college.
I understand that becoming a doctor is a difficult journey. Thousands of tests and quizzes, various professors who will teach me, and other factors that will put my dreams to the test. I enjoy taking on new challenges, so I'm going to fight it!
I am Vail Denver U. Velez, your future Cardiologist.
