I actually thought One Piece entered into being great back at Baratie, it's Arcs like this that make it a struggle to call the show great on a whole. It's starting to fall into the same category as the Fate series for me. The aspects of the show are either really really stupid, or fantastic. There is very little in between. (Though in the case of Fate, I am tending towards the negative overcoming the positive, where One Piece the Positive manages to come out on top)
