Tailoring exercises to each student's skill level makes far more sense than making everyone follow the exact same routine. For instance, assigning explosive dips to an advanced student while keeping a beginner on standard dips ensures everyone works at an appropriate intensity.
When I started my calisthenics journey, pushups felt significantly harder than handstands. My main issue was a fear of hitting my face on the floor. Pullups and handstands felt much easier by comparison because that specific fear wasn't a factor. Once I conquered that mental block, everything else became far easier to perform.
