Yea when you think about it there’s a lot of room to develope his character, he didn’t just go from Anakin to machine when he put on the mask, and with his overall ubiquity withhin the SW canon (being The Emperor’s Right Hand means he can be anywhere on any mission at anytime) Makes him the crown jewel as far as movies go.
The RO director was talking about how intimidating it is to take him on even for such a short cameo but he basically said there were a few key rules you can’t break for Vader.
Them being: 1) Don’t let him do anything we haven’t seen before Or stray too far from already canonical powers. 2) He’s ruthless and mericiless 3) No single person(Sheev, Yoda and Luke withstanding) can even come close to matching him.
I feel like as long as those rules are followed any Vader cameo, and hopefully film would be off to a good start. I mean ideallly a R movie with him would be amazing but I really don’t see anyway that would happen. R rated SW is just too risky for Disney’s family friendly vibe. One can dream though :(
