About crimes it seems that there are more cases. The Toronto area is safe for the most part but you just have to watch out for certain areas at certain times (evenings for example). Crime such as seniors being robbed, teenage groups attacking/stabbing random people, subway pushers to tracks, car crashes, etc.

Minimum wage depends on the province in Canada. Toronto is in the province of Ontario where the minimum wage is 15.50 CAD per hour. Housing prices are out of control even with higher interest rates. Rental prices I've heard are pretty high too. In general cost of living is high here.
