Pokemon Japan's Aura Seeker Set Initial Cards Reveal ft. Mega Lucario Z ex
Hi there. Information has been revealed about the next main Pokemon set after Delta Reign.
In Japan, it is called Aura Seeker. For worldwide, it is called Flowing Fists. The featured Mega Pokemon is Mega Lucario Z ex. This card was revealed at the World Championships back in August 2026 along with a new Riolu and Sigilyph ex.
Prereleases for the Flowing Fists set are from January 23, 2027 to January 31, 2027. This main set releases on February 5, 2027. (Usually a special set releases early in the year but the 30th celebrations set in September 2026 did modify the release calendar. )
I write this days before the Delta Reign set release. This post is long.
Pawmi + Pawmo
Pawmi does not seem very good.
Pawmo does not seem good in the Standard format. In a lower power Gym Leader Challenge format, the Asssault Bolt for 2 Lightning Energy seems okay. Deal 50 base damage plus 80 more damage if the opponent's Active Pokemon has a Pokemon Tool attached.
Pawmot
Pawmot is the Stage 2 evolution of Pawmi. Mach Bolt for 2 Lightning Energy deals 100 damage.
The Double Strike ability allows Pawmot to attack twice in one turn. This is similar to Festival Lead with the Festival Grounds stadium in play.
It does take time to get Pawmot into play and the firepower on its attack is nothing too crazy.
Oricorio (Yellow)
Oricorio's first attack let's you look at the opponent's hand. Then you choose up to 3 Basic Pokemon you find there and put them on the opponent's Bench. In theory, you can Bench Basic Pokemon the opponent does not want as a control strategy.
The second attack Crackle requires 1 Lightning Energy for 30 damage.
Meloetta
Meloetta's Welcoming Song is pretty powerful when it comes to setup. It is more powerful than Call For Family as Welcoming Song lets you search your deck for up to 3 Basic Pokemon and put them onto your Bench. (Shuffle deck afterwards.)
Perplex for 1 Psychic Energy and 1 Colourless Energy deals 30 damage plus Confusion.
Mega Absol Z ex
Here is Mega Absol Z ex. The regular Mega Absol ex was a Dark type while the Z version is a Psychic type.
It has no abilities and just one attack. Bloody Fear requires 2 Psychic Energy and 1 Colourless Energy to deal 160 damage. During the opponent's next turn, the opponent cannot attach any Special Energy cards from their hand or play any Stadium cards. Decks that rely on Special Energy and/or Stadiums should watch out for this Mega Absol Z ex.
One control style combination is to have this Mega Absol Z ex plus Legendary Pyroduct to shut off Evolution Pokemon abilities. The Mega Absol Z ex prevents stadium bumps.
Mawile
Mawile is a Basic Metal Pokemon with a punish style attack. Big Jaw requires 3 Metal Energy to deal 30 damage for each card in your opponent's hand. The energy requirement is high but the attack damage can be really good.
Key numbers to hit are 180 (6 cards) to one hit KO Meowth ex, 210 from 7 cards to one hit popular support Pokemon ex like Latias ex and Fezandipiti ex. The opponent having more than 7 cards is possible but opponents are likely to play around it.
Getting 3 Metal Energy in play sounds tough but we have Metang's Metal Maker, Archaludon ex and Phillipe in the format.
Metal themed decks may have one of this Mawile as a punish style attacker.
Trapinch + Vibrava
Trapinch is a Ground type Basic Pokemon need for the Flygon evolution line. The attack is not very good even though you can discard the top card of your opponent's deck.
Vibrava is kind of interesting. In theory, you can run this Vibrava only and not running the rest of the evolution line. Vibrating Wings can be used from the hand once during your turn. If you do choose to use this ability, discard the Vibrava from your hand. Then you can see the top card of your deck and put it back. I am not sure if seeing the top card of your deck is really advantageous though.
Flygon
Flygon's first attack can be annoying for the opponent. The second attack is a regular attack. Overall this Flygon does not seem great.
Varoom + Revavroom
Here are new versions of Varoom & Revavroom. They don't seem to be great attackers.
Gible + Gabite
Gible and Gabite as attackers are not amazing but are needed for..
Mega Garchomp Z ex
It looks like we got Mega Garchomp Z ex before Mega Garchomp ex. (There is no Mega Garchomp ex card.)
Both attacks do require a bit of energy. Plus you need Water energy and Fighting Energy for their attack costs.
Dragon Avenger does 30 damage for each Dragon Pokemon in your discard pile.
Sonic Edge is a beatstick attack that does 240 damage and ignores any effects on the opponent's Active Pokemon. It goes through wall style Pokemon like Crustle and Sigilyph ex.
Drampa
Drampa's first attack is good in the early game. For 1 Fighting Energy, the Powerful Breath attack deals 30 damage plus your search your deck for a Basic Energy card and attach it to 1 of your Dragon Pokemon (Shuffle deck after).
Reserve Strength for 1 Water Energy, 1 Fighting Energy and 1 Colourless Energy deals 150 damage. This Drampa cannot attack during your next turn.
Korrina's Determination
We have damage boosting cards like Brave Bangle, Kieran and Black Belt's Training.
Korrina's Determination is a damage boosting Supporter card that helps Mega Evolution Pokemon ex. During this turn, Mega Evolution Pokemon ex do 20 more damage to your opponent's Active Pokemon for each Prize card your opponent has already taken.
One extreme case that is possible is that the opponent has taken 5 Prize cards (and is 1 Prize card away from winning). With Korrina's Determination, your Mega Pokemon ex would deal an additional 100 damage during the turn this card is played. Plus 100 damage is pretty big.
Decks that feature Mega Pokemon ex are likely to put 1 of this card. Two Korrina's Determination may be a bit much but offers more consistency.
Fight Arena (Stadium)
This Fight Area Stadium card seems to be more usable than Community Center.
Once during each player's turn, that player may heal 20 damage from each of their Pokemon without a Rule Box (Pokemon ex, Pokemon V, etc.)
A mass healing stadium like this is a good counter against damage counter spread like Froslass, Munkidori (sort of), Risky Ruins, and Sinistcha.
Notes
Mega Lucario Z ex is the standout card from this set. Korrina's Determination is another standout good card that provides damaging boosting support to Mega Evolution Pokemon ex.
The other cards in the reveal don't see that great. Maybe Mega Absol Z ex can see some play in control style decks.
One combo that is worth exploring is having multiple Vibrava and Mega Garchomp Z ex. Dump Vibrava into the discard with its ability. Mega Garchomp Z ex deals 30 damage for each Dragon in the discard pile. Would this combination be good in a deck? I don't know.
Thank you for reading.
