Hi. Here is a post on Joltik, Galvantula, Foongus and Amoonguss from Pokemon Japan's White Flare set and the Black Bolt set.
Here is another version of Joltik. It is a fragile Lightning Basic Pokemon with 40 HP, 1 retreat cost and Fighting weakness.
The Surprise attack for 1 Lightning Energy does 30 damage if you flip Heads. If you flip Tails then this attack does nothing.
In the current Journey Together format this Joltik is not as good as the Joltik from Stellar Crown that can provide 2 Lightning + 2 Grass energy acceleration.
Galvantula is the Stage 1 evolution of Joltik. It is a Lightning + Bug type in the video game. For the TCG this one is a Lightning type Pokemon.
This Galvantula has 90 HP, one retreat cost and Fighting weakness. The discharge attack requires one Lightning energy for its attack. You discard all Lightning Energy from this Pokemon then you deal 50 damage for each card discarded in this way.
In theory this Galvantula can hit high numbers like 300 damage. You would need to discard 6 Lightning from this which is a lot. A scenario that is more realistic is having Reversal Energy when you are behind in prize cards. Attaching Reversal Energy gives 3 Lightning Energy to Galvantula (if you are behind) resulting in 150 damage.
Galvantula overall is an okay attacker but I think it is difficult to find lots of energy to discard to hit 200+ damage from the Discharge attack.
Foongus is a 50 HP Basic Grass Pokemon with one retreat cost, Fire weakness and a single attack. The Poison Spore requires 1 Colourless Energy to make the opponent's Active Pokemon Poisoned.
Amoonguss is a 120 HP Stage 1 Grass Pokemon that evolves from Foongus. The Seed Bomb second attack is a generic looking attack that does 60 damage from 1 Grass Energy + 1 Colourless Energy.
The first attack is Dangerous Reaction. It costs one Colourless Energy to do 30 base damage. If the opponent's Active Pokemon is affected by a Special Condition (Poison, Burned, Confused, Paralyzed or Asleep) then Dangerous Reaction does 120 more damage (150 damage in total).
Combo this attack with Foongus from above or with Brute Bonnet & Ancient Booster Capsule. The Brute Bonnet combo does require a bit of cards to pull it off though.
Thank you for reading.
