Hi Steemians
I haven't bought much precious metals lately, except for the Pandas i got from China on my last trip, this is an older picture below by the way.
So far i have reached my goal to accumulate precious metals in terms of weight, and will probably not going to purchase more for a while. It is fun to accumulate and the coins look beautiful, but the price has been disappointing to be honest.
I have been listening to videos regarding precious metals, in fact i am listening to one right now, lol. It always seem like this is the last chance to get it at this current price, especially for silver, before it goes to triple digits. Every geopolitical event seem to be used to hype silver, and then the price started rising a bit, is this the moment we have been waiting for? Only to wake up the next day that it is not and down goes the price again.
I have also searched for the older videos for silver going triple digits, as far as 2011, these people have been saying the same things as today, it's always coming soon, after this and this event.
Precious metals always did very well in the previous economic crisis and have been a good hedge and a store of value, but this time around there is a new competitor, Bitcoin, which has many characteristics of gold but with many advantages, like easier to store and transfer, and it cannot be fake (I was always worried about fake precious metals every time i purchase from a new dealer ). Precious metals have one most important advantage though, it will never be worth zero, like many of the bad cryptos did.
It is still hard for me to decide which one is better, so i will have both. Since the reward outweighs the risks. If one is the winner, then it would worth multiple of what it is right now, and the maximum risk would be let's say it goes to zero.
