I moved my whole garden (everything I would like to keep) to pots with mobility in mind. I know at some point I will have to move and I want to keep a lot of my plants. In pots, I can just load it and go.
Mobility is only one of the benefits to having your plants in pots. I can think of quite a few.
One idea I like using I got from a video on the Chelsea Flower Show. It's amazing how they have perfect flowers for the duration of the show. Their secret are in the pots.
Every display on the show has a staging area. The flowers usrd in the displays are brought in in pots that are the same size. The lanscaper takes pots that is the same size as the ones with the flowers and sinks these pots in the ground in the display area where the flowering plants needs to go. Then the frowering plants they brought in get put into the pots in the ground without removing its pot. In the mornings before opening, the display gets checked and if a loan looks sad it gets swapped without having to replant. That way the display is kept in mint condition.
Now imagine using the same concept to have flowers in your garden every day of the year. Your friends will think you have a magic touch with your garden.

Pots, are not always plain. You find some very interesting pots, pots that are really worth displaying. Pots like these can become a temporary garden feature hiding a bald spot or even a permanent feature creating a focal point.
With pots come creativity.
Pots with carefully selected plants can also be used to make a beautifull display, with plants hiding the pots or wirh interesting pots being part of the display.
With displays like this you can move or change your display whenever you want. You can create a display in an unused area or an area that is only used sometimes and clear it out whenever you need the space. Then you can move it back again later.
One of the things I really like about gardening in pots is that I don't have to worry about soil types or acidity. I control that by selecting the right growing medium. My blueberries and salads can now be close neighbour's because the soil they need are contained by the pot.
