LIVING ON PURPOSE
…Jesus said I was born for that purpose. And I came to bring truth to the world. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.”(NLT)
The life of Jesus Christ was completely a life of purpose. Everywhere he went was purpose driven. Every conversation he had was targeted at a single purpose. On several occasions the people wanted to make out of him things that were different from his purpose, he resisted it completely. Everything that is done outside purpose is a distraction. A purpose driven life is a powerful life; it’s a life that will break barriers and become significant in life.
Purpose is God’s original plan and design for our lives. Purpose is the reason for our existence. Purpose is the reason why we were born.
There are billions of men on the face of the earth and God has designed it in such a way that each person is designed with a unique purpose. None of us came accidentally. God actually planned our coming. If we fail to function in our God assigned purpose we’ll get lost in the sea of humanity.
Jesus described himself as the vine while we are the branches. Whatever runs in the vine also runs in the branches. The branch is an extension of the vine. It therefore means that a definite purpose runs in our lives even if we don’t know it yet.
Christ in us forbids a purposeless life. Our union with Christ is an exit from mediocrity and insignificance. We have all it takes to fulfill purpose. Whatever we have done this year outside divine purpose is more or less a waste of time, resources and energy. Thank God we have another year ahead of us to live on purpose.
One of your visions for the year ahead should be how to live on purpose.
PRAYER:
In the name of Jesus I function daily in my God ordained purpose.
