Text: “Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.” Prov 9:9*
Breathing is a lifelong biological process. It has to continue for life to continue. No one ever gets too old to be excused from breathing. Eating also is a lifelong need. No matter how small everyone eats every day. Life sustenance depends heavily on these processes.
Learning should also become a lifelong process in our lives. Life itself is a school. We may graduate from the four-walls of a school but we can never graduate from the school of life. We have to keep learning to remain relevant and useful in life. The greatest form of learning is an informal learning that takes place outside the four-walls of a school. Where your learning stops is where your relevance stops. The more you learn the more you become equipped for your roles in life. God has a unique place and destiny for our lives but it will require that we open up ourselves to learning. Turn yourself to a lifelong student. Every time you see someone saying something relevant to your life reach out for it.
One of the greatest barriers to learning is pride. This is having an over estimated value of who we are. No matter how much you know there are people who know better than you do. It will be stupid to think that you know it all. The truth is that what you don’t know is far more than what you know. Just think about it!
God’s word is the greatest source of learning in life. The more you read it the more you learn and the more you are equipped to be the best you were created to be. God’s word will add so much to you if you will spend quality time reading and absorbing its content. Reach out for books that will teach and inspire you. Go to a church where you are truly learning, not just a place where you only pray and sing.
DECLARATION:
I am a lifelong student. My heart is forever open to learn and get better. I humble myself.
