The number of steemit users keeps increasing on a daily basis. Kudos to the developers working tirelessly in the background to achieve this remarkable success.
Today I decided to do a comprehensive research about steemit and it's active users.
Steemit started on 24th March 2016, as a blogging and social networking online community on top of the steem circlechain database.

Below are statistics of steemit users as @ 27-01-2018

• Total Registered accounts : 670,000(estimated)

• Numbers of active users at least one time: 370,000(estimated)

• Numbers of inactive accounts: 300,000
  

From the stats above it can be deduced that about 300,000 members are inactive

One big Question I ask myself is why are 300,000 members not active?

I will answer the question from my personal experience on steemit community.

• One of the main reason from my opinion, is because most minnows(newbies) delve into the community with the sole aim of earning money. Get discouraged after two or three post without getting enough or no upvotes.

• Secondly, I discovered most minnows have little or no knowledge about the ideology of the community. i.e. Blog - Vote - Post - earn

Solutions to the aforementioned problem

• Commitment and Patient: Like the saying practice make perfect, Improvement is a function of time. We get better understanding on something when we continually work on it.
• Post should be centered on Value adding to the community.
• Read, comment and upvote people's post.

CONCLUSION

Intending members should know this community is open for all, irrespective of country, colour or religion.
I will also urge the minnows to focus on the level of impartation and value their blog or post will add on the community

Finally I will urge us all to go all out and preach the good news of steemit to all. So everyone will have the privilege to enjoy the enormous benefits of this noble community.
