I was five!
When I met them
From hairbands to pony
To frocks and skirts
Bare a little, it's a long story!
It all started singing hand in hand
Making sea castles in sand
Sharing our lunch boxes
And hiding our secrets in a locket
Friendship as tangy as mousambi
When chilling was laughing on a parody
Teachers being our second mother
There was nothing more to look further
Crying on their shoulders when low
It was about that one look
Washing away all the sorrow
Walking along the ground
Empty swings and seesaws was a treasure to be found
Giggling while the other was reciting
The bond got stronger
When we saw each other from different classes waving
From bunking classes sitting in the washrooms
To hiding under the desks in the classrooms
Exploring every door like it was the mystery
Going to canteen for sneaking a pastry
Having different stream of interests
But choosing one another for destress
I was 17!
When I was still with them
How lucky I felt to start the journey
Making promises till the end
Leaving behind the souvenir on the walls of the monument.
