Laziness!
It’s just so cool to wake up in the morning and not feel like leaving your bed.
I have been sitting down here staring at my laptop screen with a pen in my hand, and a book in front of me.
• What do I write?
• How do I begin writing it?
• What word do I begin with?
• How do I even make the first sentence?
All these questions keep repeating over and over in my head like I pressed play and threw away the remote. The reason for these questions is that I thought I was lazy.
Yes I thought because it’s only there in my head which means I created it.
How do I even create something that will end up hurting me?
Laziness is the state of being inactive maybe resulting from disliking a particular work.
Many times you sit down looking exactly at what you’re supposed to do right in front of you but making a move feel like the whole world is actually the one sitting on top of you. Most times you just imagine finishing that thing a hundred times. You imagine and imagine until you even fall asleep, waking up to see that very thing also sitting at its own spot untouched.
Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired. – Jules Renard
i. It can affect you mentally – being active always adds value to your health and the life as well. Your physical activity has its price tag. Being lazy might cause chronic health problems, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, depression, etc. These health problems can potentially frame your adult life cause. It can make you inactive and static. The body becomes less efficient and the energy level of a person becomes down because the body parts doesn’t get the pure blood circulated. The brains may not also function properly, weak memory, dullness, much time taken to answer questions, etc. so endeavor to keep the brain active.
Laziness isn’t merely a physical phenomenon, about being a couch potato, stuffing your face with fries and watching cricket all day. It’s a mental thing, too, and that’s the part I have never aspired for. – Shah Rukh Kahn
ii. It can lead to failure – being lazy draws you backwards and brings regrets in the end. You significantly may not acquire some positions by probably not attaining the height you’re supposed to. Being lazy won’t let you work towards it; as such you’ll stay confused as to what to do at a particular time. It calls for time wasting which also leads to failure.
If you ask me which the real hereditary sin of human nature is, do you imagine I shall answer pride, or luxury, or ambition, or egotism? No; I shall say indolence. Who conquers indolence will conquer all the rest. Indeed all good principles must stagnate without mental activity. -Johann Zimmerman
iii. It makes you miss opportunities – Firstly, lazy people don’t get good opportunities because they don’t grab every single one that comes their way. They procrastinate a lot and that keeps opportunities far from them. They never think about work and so they miss out to smart and active people ready to work and make good use of their every little opportunity.
“Inspiration is a guest that does not willingly visit the lazy.”
― Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
The interview I only dreamt of… haha
I had this interview I waited 2months for, only to wake up on the day of the interview and wished I was there present.
Have you ever laid in bed with your eyes wide open, looking up to the ceiling and counting them over and over again? Even with the knowledge that there is a very important work to be done. Now that was exactly how it happened.
My interview was scheduled for 10:00am and I just kept looking at the clock and counting my ceiling until it was 7:00pm. That wasn’t how I wanted it, but I let laziness take over me. Bad… real bad

It is said that there is no food for a lazy man.
N/B: Nothing comes your way if you don’t work hard, so stay productive always.
Aim at perfection in everything, though in most things it is unattainable. However, they who aim at it, and persevere, will come much nearer to it than those whose laziness and despondency make them give it up as unattainable. – Philip Stanhope, 4th Earl of Chesterfield
