It is a no-brainer that all eastern european countries, if given a choice, would rather be associated with western values and freedoms than with Russia. And that is exactly what Russia is trying to prevent using force in Ukraine. Ukraine is a prosperous country with western values neighboring Russia, and the russians themselves will start to realize how better it is to live under freedom instead of tyranny.
