The child is then placed near the lakes or shrubs with a long rope and leaves the child to cry for many hours until the crocodiles bring him.
Once the crocodile swallows the small child until it is withdrawn by fishing by the rope and killed by a shovel or shaft and skin is later stripped for use in the manufacture of shoes and bags.
In 1923, The Times of America was the first to reveal this hideous method of crocodile hunting, which at the time was a folkloric tradition followed by white fishermen in Florida and Texas, practiced since 1870 before being criminalized by the US Congress and state authorities in 1924.
