Good day, everyone! I like to flip through you a poem I wrote for my son while he was in the hospital and immense pain. He has specific conditions, both mentally and physically(Epileptic Cerebral Palsy). I simply laid this poem aside and I almost forgot about it.
Wounded Souls
Looking at you, my heart breaks
Knowing that you are in pain
Uttering a syllable you are incapable
The wailing of anguish is all you can express
Self-inflicting at some other times is what you do
You are obtaining adequate pain
At the moment you catch the first glimpse of the light
Squeezing and holding my hand bringing me closer to you
Kissing me and hugging me tightly
Upon meeting your gaze, and noticing the tears in your eyes
Getting on to great lengths to conceal my emotions
Bursting into tears and being numb indefinitely
But seeing you helpless, I'm powerless
At times, I'm appealing to God to put a stop to your suffering
Returning to Him will put an end to your pain
Whereas seeing you in misery...

Reading and hearing my words hurt because they capture the emotional pain that I and my son are experiencing. Although there is a lot of goodness, bravery, and persistence, I can feel what lies inside of him. I
stay on the tracks and move forward at high speed because my son exemplifies the soldier's bravery and will to withstand adversity. All I can give to my son is emotional and financial support and the hope that one day he will be pain-free as I cling to life like a fighter, rising every morning at the sound of the "alarm clock." Everything will be fine one day...
