Anton Bruckner (him. Anton Bruckner; September 4, 1824, Ansfelden, Upper Austria — October 11, 1896, Vienna) was an Austrian composer, organist and music teacher, best known for his symphonies, masses and motets. His symphonies are often considered a symbol of the final stage of Austro-German romanticism because of their rich harmonic language, complex polyphony and considerable duration.
