My Own Dashboard

Hi, I am Dima (dimante@dimante). Up to now I have mostly been writing over in the Ladies of Hive community, Hive Food, and I am also a developer.

I am starting a little series of articles about HiveScan. It is a product built right here on Hive, and I do not think enough people know about it yet. My goal with these posts is simple, to help you see what it can do and to get you using it.

So let me show you why it will win you over.

When people hear the words "block explorer" they usually picture something very technical. Blocks, transactions, raw data. A lot of developers actually want it to stay that way, as simple and plain as possible, and they are not always fans of all the designs and dashboards on top.

HiveScan took a different road. Instead of a tool for one type of person, it grew into a platform built for many types of Hive users at once. Developers still get their clean technical view. But content creators, investors, witnesses, and curious data lovers all get something made for them too.

Let me walk you through what each person gets here.

For Content Creators

If you blog or create, you already know that followers alone tell you almost nothing. You want the real picture. HiveScan has a ready made Creator board that brings your whole creator life onto one screen:

  • Content & Activity, your posts, comments, and votes over time

  • Community Activity, which communities you are most active in

  • Top Posts, your best performing work

  • Pending Rewards, what is still coming to you

  • Social Interactions, who actually engages with you, not just who follows

  • Notifications and a quick account snapshot

  • The Network around me reports

    Content Volume Report

.

For investors and market watchers

If you care about the money side, there is a Market board with the tools for it:

  • Your Hive Power and how it is moving

  • Account value and balances in one place

  • Live market data and prices

  • Top Holders, the rich list

  • HP Distribution, how the stake is spread across the network

Market Board

For witnesses

Witnesses get a Governance board made for them:

  • The witness schedule and who is producing blocks

  • Votes and vote weight

  • Proposals and the ones you are watching

  • Where the stake sits

Governance Dashboard

For developers and data people

And yes, the technical heart is still here and strong. There are two boards for this crowd.

The Network board is all about the health of the chain:

  • Blocks, transactions, and operations

  • Network Growth and Daily Active Users

  • Network DApp Usage, which apps people actually use

  • Block production, throughput, and resource load

And the Essentials board is your five second check, a fast pulse of everything at once:

  • Live blocks as they happen

  • Hive price and market data

  • Chain parameters and supply

  • Quick account, block, and transaction search

So nobody is left out. Everyone finds their corner.

The best part: you build your own dashboard

Here is the thing that makes it feel yours. You are not stuck with one fixed page.

You can pick a ready made board, Creator, Market, Governance, Network and more, preview it, then set it as your own and adjust it. Or you can open the widget library and build from scratch. You just pick the little blocks that matter to you and arrange them your way.

What matters most to you goes front and center. Everything you do not care about, you leave out. And any report can be exported to CSV when you want to keep your numbers.

Where it gets really powerful: the reports : This is where HiveScan really shines.

For a long time, the weekly and monthly Hive numbers were something you waited for someone else to post. Now that kind of reporting lives right inside HiveScan, and you can pull it up yourself whenever you want.

You can look at the last 30, 90, or 180 days with one tap, or open Custom and stretch it out to a full year and beyond. Here is a snapshot of the library of reports . So far, there are around 17 dedicated reports on the widget library that you can make use of.

Reports under the widget library

Each person gets reporting shaped for them, in one place, without digging through raw data. That is the part that will impress you the most.

So, which one are you?
Are you here mostly to create? Then the Creator board will feel like home. More of an investor, a witness, or a data lover? There is a board waiting for you too.

Go check out HiveScan at hivescan.info, pick a board, and have a look at your own numbers. Then come back and tell me in the comments which board fits you and which report you checked first. I am curious how differently we all use Hive.

And stay tuned, in the next part I will show you how to log in and set up your first board step by step.
