I found this blog post on Steemit https://steemit.com/steem/@steemitblog/update-communities-hivemind which talks about Hivemind/communities along with other things. I think this played atleast a small part in the latest jump in Steem Price but it is still unclear exactly whats causing the pump. Let's enjoy it for now!!
