Hi, i myself is just a hobby photographer.
Your gear i think is better or similar with my nikon d7100.
what i can suggest is first to check your camera features. like howto set the aperture, shutter speeds and etc.
my lens for macro is f2.8d nikon and for bird i have tamron 10-600mm.
for macro i always use a speedlight external flash. it will minimize blur macro shots but the gear will become heavier and we need a diffuser on the flash so that we reduced the harsh bright flash on the insects.
at the beginning its not easy. i got lots of failed photo. with practice you will eventually shoot better and faster :)
for macro my suggestion is get a macro lens and external flash. then practice with the shutter and aperture setting. some friends here uses manual mode but for me i use auto mode.
let me know if you need more info and will try to share my experiance how i shoot. :)
