i use nikon but have not tried canon. but i think they are similar.
yes. for wildlife 600mm would be great. my first lens is 18~200mm and use it for bird shooting from the start and it's hard and waste of time.
my current setup if D7100 + tamron 150~600mm its ok for bird shots. but i saw @ratel using sigma and result is sharper.
