my 60mm f2.8D nikkor has min distance focus of 50~75mm. i do always try to be closed. specially for small insects.
This one is big. i can afford to be 100mm away from the tip of the lens.
using bigger fstop like f9 will help produce more details that f13, DOF is god enough. too close like f5.6 will need to photo stack.
anyways thru testing and experiance. i learned this.
